"The land is full. It has no end of stories to tell us if we are patient enough to listen."

Robbie LeveyPLA, ASLA

I founded Levey LA with the belief that a landscape should embrace its context and honor the historical and ecological systems it inhabits. With a commitment to regional identity and environmental stewardship, I look for opportunities to engage with people and places to excavate what it means to be local. Unbound by a style, I believe in the site’s ability to reveal itself, and become the place it can be.

Having studied at Clemson and spent most of my professional career in residential landscape architecture in the Piedmont region, I feel especially connected to the history and ecology of the Southeast. My work examines the uniqueness of the region but looks ahead as to what is needed and the legacy we want to leave.

A landscape takes time and care to grow. Each project provides the unique opportunity to cultivate relationships with local tradespeople, nurseries, clients and caretakers.

As a landscape grows, weathers and changes through each season, the places we create reflect the care we put into them. No other design profession is tied so closely to growth, change and adaptation. It is with that level of care that I approach each project, listening and responding as a steward of the land.
